Anne Heard, Chair John Whitehead Charles De Pape, Treasurer Ellen Watters Margaret Wanke Celia Cheatley The Kaslo & District Public Library Association is governed by a volunteer board of trustees consisting of 5 to 9 members. Terms are for 2 years for a maximum service of 8 consecutive years. Responsibilities of the board include: setting strategic direction and policies, hiring and evaluating the Library Director, approving the annual budget, securing funding, and preparing annual financial statements. The board operates under the provisions of the Library Act of British Columbia.Annual General Meeting ….typically the second week of March (see advertisement on home page)
NOTE: The 2020 AGM has been postponed until further notice. The terms of current Trustees have been extended via Board motion until elections are possible at an AGM. The 2019 Financial Statements are available to view here
Everyone is welcome to attend. All adult members of the association (library card holders) are eligible to vote and/or be nominated for a trustee position at the AGM. Orientation and training is provided for new trustees.Board meetings…..click here for next meeting date
The board meets 9-10 times per year on Tuesdays at the library. Meetings are open to the public. Please check here for date and time. There are no meetings in July and August.
