Summer Reading Club
Get ready to laugh yourself silly this summer! The theme for the 2017 Summer Reading Club is:
WALK ON THE WILD SIDE!
Please pre-register at the library or call 250-353-2942 or by email firstname.lastname@example.orgPrograms run on 7 Fridays from July 7 – August 18 for 3 age groups: Ages 3-5 from 9:00 – 10:00, Ages 6-9 from 11:00 – 12:00, Ages 10-12 from 2:00 – 3:00.
Regular reading during the summer helps kids to maintain or even improve their reading and literacy skills and studies show that voluntary reading is the number one factor in establishing good reading habits. Summer Reading Club makes reading fun and the expert staff at the library can help kids find just the right book from among a wide variety of library materials.
Summer Reading Club reaches over 155,000 children across British Columbia every summer and is sponsored by the British Columbia Library Association with funding assistance from the Libraries Branch, Ministry of Education.
Since 2011, the Kaslo & District Public Library has been able to hire fabulous students to run Summer Reading Club through the Canada Summer Jobs and Young Canada Works programs.
