Based on the direction and recommendation of the public health officials, and out of care and concern for our community of library users, volunteers, and staff, the Kaslo & District Public Library is closed to the public and all programs (including AGM) are postponed until further notice effective, Wednesday, March 18 – 3:00pm.
Interlibrary loans and holds are suspended. The book drop will remain open throughout the closure, so you may return any library materials you have out. We would like to remind everyone that we do not have late fees on any of our materials, and do encourage you to hang on to the items you have out while we are closed. We have extended due dates to May 20 and have made sure that library cards do not expire before Aug 30 for digital services.
(digital collections) ARE available and most can be accessed remotely using your library card. This includes e-books, audiobooks, magazines, streaming movies, learning new languages and more. We will offer support to assist with using the digital collection and to set up temporary memberships. Fill in the contact form us here.
If you leave a message on the phone 250-353-2942, it may take a bit longer. Staff will be working from home as much as possible.
Since services are subject to change and we may find more ways to help, watch for updates on our website, Facebook, and on the front door of the library as they become available.
Thank you for your support, understanding and patience during this difficult time. Now is a critical moment when we must all work together to ensure the well-being of our communities and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
